Land adjacent to 76a Stanley Grove – 2021/0988

Submission to Wandsworth Borough Council
Added on: 23 April 2021 at 13:06:16

The Battersea Society, as with previous applications for development on this site, objects strongly to this latest application.

Attempting to squeeze two modern houses into a challenging site, such as this in a conservation area, requires a practical and sensitive approach, given the proximity of adjacent houses. That is not the approach of these proposals which, once again, are an overdevelopment of the site with little consideration for the impact on neighbours and the Park Town Estate conservation area more generally.

There is little on how the two dwellings would operate alongside each other in such a confined space, especially with a substation taking up a major part of the street frontage and thus limiting access to the rear of the site. The proposals should be referred to the WCAAC for their consideration.

We strongly recommend that the Planning Applications Committee refuse approval.
