Green and Blue Gems Walk

  • Cabul Road London, England, SW11 2PN United Kingdom (map)

Green and Blue Gems is an early summer walk exploring North Battersea's best public parks, paths and gardens, in aid of Katherine Low Settlement.

Join Clare Graham, the Chair of our Open Spaces Committee and author of Discovering Battersea's Open Spaces: a walking guide for this fundraising walk. It’ll be a gentle, fully-accessible stroll of just under three miles on pavements or good paths, introducing some of the many fine smaller green spaces tucked away off Battersea’s back streets, and explaining more about their history. We’ll also visit some of Battersea Park’s better-hidden gems and explore a section of the Thames Path, before finishing near KLS itself. All participants will receive a complimentary copy of Discovering Battersea’s Open Spaces.

Recognized with a Wandsworth Council Civic Award in 2023 for their work with children and families from refugee backgrounds, KLS are a long-standing partner of ours and we want to support the outstanding work of this Battersea mainstay in their centenary year. They urgently need our help to make their creaking and quirky building more accessible, sustainable and welcoming. All proceeds from the walk will be donated to their KLS 100 Building Appeal.

Meet in Christchurch Gardens (entered from Cabul Road, near junction with Battersea Park Road). We suggest a donation of £10 for the walk. Please register in advance.
