12-14 Lombard Road, 2017/0285
The Battersea Society wish to draw to your attention the fact that this travel plan, for a development which:
“It is predicted that over the duration of an average day there will be 1,000 trips generated by the residents and their visitors”
is largely a mere listing of existing public transport provision with no indication how the plan will influence travel patterns or habits. The bus services it cites are already at over capacity. In the case of the 170 this single decker bus cannot be increased in size due to the railway bridge. The 44 is subject to delay and erratic timing. This will only get worse as new traffic is generated on the Ram Brewery site and other consented developments in York Road.
There is no suggestion that the applicant will seek to influence TfL to be more innovative and responsible about future transport provision. It is a matter of concern that neither Wandsworth Council nor TfL seem prepared to consider the cumulative impact on public transport and road capacity of the many developments in this area.
