Penthouse Riverside One 22 Hester Road SW11 4AN: 2015/3994
The Battersea Society object strongly to this application as submitted. Riverside One is a significant modern building, housing the headquarters of Foster and Partners. As such Riverside One enhances that stretch of the river walk and frontage, and the view from north of the river on Chelsea Embankment.
The proposals are for substantial changes to the Penthouse floor yet are lacking any Design and Access statement, planning statement or visualisation of precisely what is being proposed and how the changes would affect the building or the public space. There is no information about how the works would be undertaken nor how access would be gained for these from ground level. These works are, as neighbours have stated, likely to cause significant disturbance. In addition the proposed use for the developed space could be a potential nuisance to neighbours – again these matters are not set out within the documentation.
The scanned documents on the website are virtually unintelligible and form no basis for reaching a rational conclusion. It appears however, from what is provided, that the proposals could well run counter to WBC policy DMH5 ii). It is likely they also breach DMO 6 a v).
The Battersea Society urges that the application, as submitted, is refused.
