The Battersea Society objects strongly to the proposal for two added storeys to blocks K and L. This development is already an unneighbourly overdevelopment of the site. It is far from a 'minor variation' and should have been the subject of further consultation and of review by the Design Review Panel. As we recall, added storeys for the Vista development in Queenstown Road were the subject of consultation.
The approved proposals are already at variance with the SSAD for this part of the opportunity area. We assume that the density already considerably exceeds London Plan guidelines. Adding storeys would further increase the density, would reduce the variation between heights and would exacerbate the already deleterious effect of this development on views of Battersea Power Station and from Battersea Park and the surrounding conservation area. We note with interest the robust objection credited to smith.
Please see our original objection which remains relevant.
We trust that Wandsworth Council, its officers and members of the Planning Applications Committee will resist this opportunistic application.
