The Battersea Society: Health Matters Welcome to the Battersea Society website

Health Matters

Health Guide

The organisation of NHS services in our area is now the responsibility of the Wandsworth Clinical Commisioning Group. They have produced a guide to Health in Wandsworth which is available for download in pdf format.

There is also a most useful website which contains all, and more of the information in the guide about a wide range of local NHS services. A search facility enables you to easily locate a local GP, pharmacy etc using your postcode. You'll find the website here.

Junction Health CentreJunction Health Centre

The Junction Health Centre is located near the Grant Road entrance of Clapham Junction station which is open from 8am to 8pm 365 days a year. It provides a walk-in service which offers patients health care advice and treatment for general health problems and immediately necessary treatments.

NHS Choices

The NHS choices website includes a more general overview of health matters, and includes an A-Z of medicines, and a Sympton Checker, as well as useful advice on a wide range of health issues and problems.

NHS 111 logoNHS 111
111 is the number to call when:

it’s not a 999 emergency
you think you need to go to A&E or another NHS urgent care service
you don’t think it can wait for an appointment with your GP, or
you don’t know who to call for medical help

For less urgent health needs, you should still contact your GP or dentist in the usual way. For immediate, life-threatening emergencies, patients should dial 999.

If you wish to leave feedback about your experience of any aspect of the NHS can do so via www.patientopinion.co.uk.
